Developing Leaders within a global digital services business

The Challenge

A global organisation had strategic objectives to developing and growing leaders.

What we did

We developed an ongoing, modular programme for existing and new leaders in the business. The programme was designed to develop a strong sense of cohort identity and a shared sense of trust, so that participants could build greater self-awareness – one of the key building blocks of good leadership.

The programme integrated the latest thinking and methodologies around leadership to the particular challenges and opportunities faced by the business: from self-awareness and the concept of leadership as a whole, to the importance of communication in great leadership, to leadership in the context of a changing, complex global environment. Practical tools, such as coaching skills, MBTI and Transactional Analysis, ensured participants could build their capabilities as leaders.

The programme was flexible and included a combination of different learning methodologies and one-to-one coaching sessions to encourage participants to step up and into their own authentic leadership role.

The Results

Self-assessment and discussions with managers showed that, by the end of the programme, participants invariably understood their personal goals as a leader, their evolving leadership style and how they can use it within the context of the changing world of work, and their own part of the organisation in particular. They were much more confident in identifying situations where they can flex their leadership behaviours in order to challenge, inspire and encourage greater levels of performance from their teams.
